Survey Findings: Preliminary
Residents, service workers, and medical staff at the locations where Healing Window Paintings have been displayed were asked to complete a qualitative survey.
The survey was created in collaboration with a Post Graduate Fellow at the William Alanson School of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis and Psychology, Ny., Toni Hellman.
Responses were overwhelmingly positive.
84% of individuals personally enjoyed having the paintings in their daily space; while 0% felt negatively about them (16% had no preference).
62% of individuals reported a positive change in the atmosphere while 0% felt a negative change (38% felt neutral regarding this question). Equally as important, 68% of people felt a positive change in their personal wellbeing while, again, 0% felt that the change was negative, the remainder surveyed were neutral.
75% percent of individuals felt that the paintings should be installed permanently, and did so enthusiastically, 0% felt that they should not be, and 25% remained neutral.
These surveys have only been conducted at the sites where Healing Window Paintings have been on display. As the exhibit moves to more locations, additional data will be collected.
Total numbers surveyed: Patients/Residents:25 Staff:15 Medical Personnel:44 Visitors to Residents/Patients:0
